TIMMELSJOCH
The Museum Pass ‘Timmelsjoch’ stands like a boulder in the barren mountains. The museum is part of a project of the architectsWerner Tscholl and is located in Tyrol, right at the border between Austria and Italy. At 2491 meters above sea level, the architects of the mountain pass several buildings have realized what travelers say about nature, history, culture, society and economy should educate the region. It was a concern to integrate the building as an integrated system of design elements in the landscape.
The museum should be on the one hand, the then pioneering effort in the form of the building to exceed the pass, but with respect to adapt landscape and topography of the place harmoniously and pass through material and color choice in the background. The cavity inside the museum pays tribute to the pioneers of the High Alpine Road and their performance toll.
